5 Steps to complete your goals
It's June, and we by almost half way the year. Like most people you probably took inventory at the beginning of the year and plans and goals for the year made. Still, experts say, 30 percent of the people who make new year's resolutions 1 February to given and more than half will concede defeat of July.
Why does this happen? It happens because a resolution, by definition, an opinion, which will or intention is simply the expression. It is not a goal. Resolutions tend to be very vague. Example: "this year I solve that I get a better job"or"I resolve this year to be better human."
Let me give you an analogy. In a sense, a motion for a resolution as a tent canvas is while objectives such as the pole and the stakes. You cannot expect to support to raise a tent without the poles and bets. Also, you can expect to meet without support objectives on a resolution.
Use the tent analogy, those who are really successful in obtaining a tent have probably also checks a list of statements that, in order to perform certain tasks said. Resolutions and goals of the action plan that would be in our example. The action plan is the roadmap which tell you, what should be done and when it comes to your goals to reach and satisfy your resolutions to do.
Use this five-step process and you can beat the odds and achieve the success you deserve!
1. Analyze you, what you want to achieve. Consider what is most important to you. Look where you are today, and determine, where it is you want to go.
2. Identify your most important goals. Rank order and limited to no more than three. (Five if you must.)
3. Create an action plan. This is where you say "here is what I plan to do, and here is how I plan to do it." This must be written using SMART goals, the "specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely." Ex resolution: I will fall this year. SMART goal: I go for 30 minutes three times a week beginning of February.
4. Prioritize you your plan. This is where you say, "Here is the order I want you to do that." Use the 20/80 rule and focus on the 20% of the tasks that will produce 80% of the results.
5. Implement your plan. This is where you say, "Here's how I my plan will be implemented in practice." Then do it! This should include a regular review and celebration process. Most, but not less than monthly is weekly.
If you follow these simple steps, are you not only to be able to achieve your goals but your keep new year's resolutions! Good luck!
