War stories on personal growth and gratitude

Some of my favorite stories involve personal growth experience during wartime. This story shows the hard lesson take people granted.

The Viet Nam war Navy pilot Plumb Charles was shot down and imprisoned for six years in jail in Viet Nam.Hoy as a motivational speaker, he often tells the story of a man who knew years later in a restaurant.

"I know that you"!the man said, upload as Plumb and his wife were sitting down to dinner. "Used to fly jet fighters out Kitty Hawk during Viet Nam".

Plumb cannot recognize it."How you know?" he asked.

"I used to pack his parachute," said the man.

"Plumb still does not recognize the man, but he thanked him.""If this hopper not worked when like shot down," he said, "Would I be alive today."

But Plumb night he could not sleep."What I kept wondering what might have seemed in a Navy uniform: a hat white, a bib pants back and bell-bottom.Me wondered how many times could have seen and did not say, ' Good morning, cómo estás?' or anything because you see, was a fighter pilot and a sailor".

At this point in his lectures, Plumb asks his audience, "What is packing his parachute?"

Plumb message: start paying attention to people who "repackage its parachute" today.

What that gives you what you need to survive every day? recognize them? do you give them enough?
